NIAS, the abandoned island . This island is situated 125 kms. to the west of Sumatra (Indonesia), the site of the tsunami which took place in the Aceh region in December. To reach the village which is located in the middle of the jungle, a good hour walk is needed on perilous tree bridges, through rice fields and other hazardous bits of path.
